Who are we ?
Ekinnox is a Startup created in 2017 whose mission is to democratize the analysis of human movement by developing simple, reliable and accessible solutions. Resulting from a project that started in 2015 at the INRIA research institute, today it is run by three partners, Baptiste Fosty, Mélaine GAUTIER and Nicolas MAIRE. The company now has 7 employees and continues to grow in 2019.
The origin of the project
The project relies on a movement analysis system developed for more than 5 years in the Inria Sophia Antipolis STARS research team, notably by Baptiste FOSTY, co-founder and CEO of Ekinnox. This system, initially applied to the evaluation of people with neurodegenerative diseases, is based on advanced technologies in the field of computer vision.
KinTracK, Ekinnox’s first product, is a medical device for the quantified and visual analysis of walking for care staff in rehabilitation facilities. In the form of a rolling cart consisting of a computer and a camera, our solution measures the main spatiotemporal parameters of walking and provides a powerful platform for visual analysis through 2D and 3D videos.
ASSOCIATE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
With an experience as a research engineer in computer science at Inria, Baptiste started this startup project in 2017 after several training in entrepreneurship, in particular in HEC Paris.
With a commercial background and personnal projects in motion analysis dedicated to sport applications, Nicolas met EKINNOX at the beginning of 2017. The complementarity of the profiles and the projects led to the integration of Nicolas as an associate and sales manager.
Venture capital fund specialized in digital startups, IT-Translation supports the founders since their beginning at Inria, advise the company on its strategy and operations, and is a member of the board.
ASSOCIATE, MEDICAL ADVISOR
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician (PM&R) at the Centre Hélio Marin of Vallauris, Dominik advises the company on the medical aspects, actively participates in the product definition and helps with the relations in the medical domain.
After successfully finishing his PhD in computer science in march 2018, more particularly in image processing and modelization, Jean-Dominique decided to reorient his carreer in the industry, in a human scale and dynamic company. Interested in the technical problematics treated by EKINNOX, he joined the company in april 2018.
With more than 20 years experience in the development of complex medical systems and softwares for clinicians, Colette developed strong competences in design control, regulatory affairs and quality management systems for medical devices. She joined EKINNOX in January 2019 as Product Manager.
mARKETING & COMMUNICATION OFFICER
After graduating from the IAE Nice Graduate School of Management, Nancy wanted to join the Ekinnox team for its dynamism, its goodwill and the experience this challenge represents. With a creative and persevering nature with a passion for communication, she joined the “Marketing / Communication” division.
After his computer science studies, Emmanuel got specializes in user interface. He worked int development of medical systmes, both in research and industry. Looking for a new challenge, he joined EKINNOX in May 2019.
Currently in second year of managerial support studies, Charlotte completed her first year as an assistant manager at L’Oréal. Organized, she decided to join EKINNOX in September 2019 as an administrative assistant to develop her skills.
After a Master 1 internship in Engineering and Science of Human Movement at CEA LIST Nano Innov for the analysis of a charge port exoskeleton, Thomas joined the EKINNOX team in March 2020 for his Master 2 internship specializing in analysis of human movement.
Hamza EL HAOUARI
REGULATORY AFFAIRS OFFICER INTERN
Passionate about biomedical technology, Hamza is currently in final year of his Biodedical engineering at ISIFC studies. He is involved in the implementation of EKINNOX’s Regulatory Affairs policy for his final internship.
