Who we are?
EKINNOX's mission is to democratize human motion analysis by developping simple, reliable and accessible solutions.
The project is based on a motion analysis system leveraging cutting-edge computer vision technologies. Initially designed to assess people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, it was developed for over than 5 years within a public reasearch institute, in particular by Baptiste FOSTY.
Launched in 2015, this project led to the creation of EKINNOX in 2017, which is now managed by Baptiste FOSTY and Nicolas MAIRE.
The first product, KinTracK, is a Medical Device for quantified and visual motion analysis dedicated to caregivers in physical rehabilitation. Consisting of a medical cart equipped with a computer and a camera, KinTracK measures gait and movement spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters, and provides a powerful visual analysis platform thanks to the 2D and 3D videos.

To guarantee the security and safety of our product, EKINNOX certified its Quality Management System according to the ISO13485 Medical Device standard.
History of the project
Project genesis
This project is launched at Inria, a french public reasearch institute, from the work done by Baptiste FOSTY in STARS team, a research team specialized in computer vision.
Creation of EKINNOX company
After 2 years of product developments and studies, the company is created by 2 former engineers of the institute, a doctor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Venture capital fund.
First financing and recruitments
With the support of several financial partners, the team grows to 6 people
Product finalization and CE marking
Thanks to the recruitments, a first version of KinTracK product is finalized end of 2018 and the CE marking is obtained (Class I)
Sales and distribution
First hospitals are equipped, the product is validated by more than 600 people and is now distributed by the most important national distributor in rehabilitation, Médimex.
Fundraising and developments
With 1.5M€ of financing obtained over that period, EKINNOX is structured, continue the development of the product as well as the sales prospection in France and explore the international market, in particular in Europe, US and Middle East.
2nd version and certification
The Quality Management System of the company is certified according to ISO13485 standard, a 2nd version of the product is developed and CE marked as a Class II Medical Device according to the new european regulation (MDR).
3rd version, new product/market
In France, more than 30 healthcare institutions are now equipped with KinTracK.
A 3rd version is launched including in particular balance tests and a web application.
A new product is launch dedicated to podiatrist (portable version) and some contacts were taken with foreign distributors to move forward on the global democratization of motion analysis.
